Veg Gravy Momos Recipe

Most often, steamed Momos are cooked at home. This time, I am here to present to you the latest cooking direction for delicious Momos. This is the type of food that can be served with chapatti or one can enjoy it solely too.

Practice makes a man perfect, the phrase is well suited for the shape of momos, it takes time and practice to make the perfect shape of momos. But it’s all right, in our today’s recipe it is not the area to be bothered about. The delicious gravy will cover up all these types of minute imperfections.

Let’s start preparing our delicious gravy momos.

Steps for making Gravy Momos and easy understanding, the recipe is broken further into 4 easy steps.

Making of dough for the outer layer of Momos


  • Refined wheat flour – 2 cups
  • Salt – 1 Pinch
  • Water – As per requirement


Take all the ingredients in a dough bowl and make a dough by kneading.

Making of Momos stuffing


  • Cabbage, shredded -1 small piece
  • Carrot, shredded – 1
  • Spring Onion, chopped – 3
  • Oil – 02 tbsp
  • Salt & Pepper  – As required


In the stuff preparation, we use the technique called Saute, in which a small amount of oil is used at a relatively high flame.

  • Take the oil in a shallow pan and heat it moderately.
  • Take all the vegetables together and put them in the pan.
  • Saute it for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add salt and pepper and saute it further for another 1-2 minutes.
  • Now keep it aside to cool down.

Preparation of Momos


  • The dough prepared in the first step
  • Oil for deep fry


  • From the dough make small balls.
  • Make a round shape by flattening them one by one. You can use a small bowl to cut the perfect round.
  • Give it the shape of Momos after filling the stuffing prepared in the second step.
  • Now fry all Momos in medium hot oil.

Preparation of final dish The Gravy Momos


  • Onion, sliced – 2 piece
  • Spring onion, chopped – 1 piece, white & green separated
  • Capsicum, sliced – 2 piece
  • Carrot, chopped – 2 piece
  • Cream – 1 tbsp
  • Tomato ketchup – 2 tbsp
  • Mayonnaise – 1 tbsp
  • Schezwan sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt & Pepper – As required


  • Take the oil in a shallow pan and heat it.
  • Put all the veggies together and saute them.
  • Put all other ingredients except spring onion.
  • Add some water to make consistent gravy.
  • Boil it after put all fried Momos for 2-3 minutes.
  • Your Gravy Momos is ready.
  • Put it in a bowl and garnish with chopped spring onion.
